About the Procedure
TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) is a minimally invasive treatment for severe aortic valve stenosis, especially recommended for patients who are at increased risk for open-heart surgery or who may benefit from a faster recovery.
Instead of opening the chest, the new valve is implanted through a catheter, usually inserted through the femoral artery. This allows the heart valve to be replaced with less surgical trauma, shorter hospitalization, and faster postoperative recovery.
