He earned a spot in the Dokuz Eylül University Thoracic Surgery Residency in Izmir, the city that would become the center of his life's work.

Residency and Early Practice in Izmir

After five years of intensive surgical training, Dr. Ersöz was appointed to Tepecik Training and Research Hospital. Despite Suat Seren Chest Hospital being the primary center for chest cases, patients with high-risk and complex profiles soon began requesting him. With courage and precision, he operated on numerous high-risk cases that others had turned away.

His success led to a life-changing offer from İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University: to establish a new thoracic surgery department at the city’s oldest hospital, Atatürk Training and Research Hospital.
