Alexander Krapivsky

Dr. Alexander Krapivsky is a German board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine and Cardiology with more than 20 years of clinical experience in cardiovascular medicine. He is a founder and medical director of Herzquartier, a network of specialized cardiovascular practices in Germany.

His professional background combines many years of hospital-based cardiology and interventional medicine with modern outpatient cardiovascular diagnostics, prevention and long-term patient care. Before establishing Herzquartier, Dr. Krapivsky worked at major cardiovascular centers in Germany, including University Hospital Essen, the Heart Center Duisburg and the Department of Cardiology at Evangelisches Krankenhaus Mülheim.

For many years, he worked as a senior cardiologist and was responsible for a cardiac catheterization laboratory. During this period, he gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and invasive treatment of coronary artery disease. This interventional background remains particularly valuable in his current outpatient work, as it allows him to assess patients not only from a preventive and diagnostic perspective but also with a detailed understanding of when invasive coronary evaluation or treatment may become necessary.

Today, Dr. Krapivsky's main clinical interests include cardiovascular prevention and early detection, coronary artery disease, arterial hypertension, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias and disorders of lipid metabolism.

A particular focus of his work is individualized cardiovascular risk assessment. His work includes comprehensive non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostics such as echocardiography, resting and exercise ECG, ambulatory ECG monitoring, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring and vascular ultrasound. Where clinically appropriate, advanced imaging such as coronary CT, coronary calcium scoring or cardiac MRI can be incorporated into the diagnostic strategy.

Dr. Krapivsky has additional advanced qualifications in several areas of cardiovascular medicine, including Interventional Cardiology, Heart Failure, Cardiac Rhythm Devices and Special Cardiovascular Prevention. He also has advanced expertise in lipidology and the management of patients with complex lipid disorders and elevated cardiovascular risk.

His scientific background includes participation in cardiovascular research and authorship or co-authorship of publications in internationally recognized medical journals. This academic experience supports an evidence-based approach to everyday clinical decision-making.
