Le Dr Ricardo Bonilla est un chirurgien plasticien et reconstructeur qui a obtenu son diplôme de médecine à l'université Javeriana de Bogota, en Colombie, en 1988. Il a ensuite obtenu un diplôme en chirurgie plastique à l'université du Costa Rica et a terminé sa formation en chirurgie plastique et reconstructive à l'UAB à Birmingham, Alabama, États-Unis. Il a travaillé comme chirurgien plasticien dans plusieurs cliniques et hôpitaux à Bogota, à Pereira et aux États-Unis. Le Dr Bonilla est membre à part entière de plusieurs sociétés médicales, dont la Société colombienne de chirurgie plastique esthétique et reconstructive et la Société internationale de chirurgie plastique esthétique.
