Baris Akin
Nephrologist
Prof. Baris Akin is a highly esteemed professor of surgery based in Istanbul, Turkey, with a specialization in kidney and pancreas transplantation. He received the 'Young Investigator Award' at the American Transplant Meeting in 2004 and has successfully conducted over 1200 kidney transplantations in Turkey. Prof. Akin has developed a new donor nephrectomy surgical technique and is certified as a transplant surgeon by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons.

- He completed his medical school and general surgery residency at Ankara University.
- Prof. Akin graduated from the transplant surgery fellowship program at Ohio State University between 2001 and 2004, where he was involved in numerous transplantations.
