Prof. Dr méd. Volker Budach *Prof. Dr med. Volker Budach

Il a terminé ses études de médecine à l'Université d'Essen et a été nommé au département de radiothérapie de l'hôpital de la Charité à Berlin en 1993. Il a dirigé ce département avec succès jusqu'en 2022, fort de près de 40 ans d'expérience professionnelle et de 30 ans d'expérience managériale. Sous la direction du professeur Budach, de nombreuses études cliniques ont été menées, notamment sur le traitement des tumeurs de la tête et du cou. Outre d'autres tumeurs telles que les sarcomes, les carcinomes bronchiques et les carcinomes du sein, ses domaines de spécialisation clinique et scientifique sont également au cœur de ses préoccupations. Le professeur Budach a fondé et co-dirigé pendant de nombreuses années le centre de cancérologie de la Charité. Outre ses fonctions de directeur de clinique, il a également dirigé le Centre Charité 14, qui regroupait les domaines de l'imagerie et de l'oncologie. Le professeur Budach a été président de la Société allemande de radio-oncologie (DEGRO) et président de son congrès. À l'EORTC, il a dirigé le groupe des tumeurs de la tête et du cou pendant de nombreuses années. Il est l'auteur de nombreux articles importants sur l'optimisation de la radiothérapie et de la chimiothérapie dans le traitement des tumeurs de la tête et du cou. Après 30 ans à la tête de la clinique, le professeur Budach a décidé de mettre son expérience en radio-oncologie au service de la clinique RadioOnkologie Vosspalais. Le professeur Budach est membre des associations professionnelles DEGRO, ESTRO et ASTRO.
