Dr. Humayun Kakar is a cardiologist. He earned his medical degree from Eskişehir Osmangazi University between 2007 and 2014. He completed his cardiology residency at İzmir Dokuz Eylül University from 2015 to 2020. In 2024, he received advanced training in heart failure at the University of Zurich in Switzerland.

DDr. Alexander Hermann, MPH, MBA, EDIC, is a Vienna-based physician specializing in internal medicine and intensive care. He graduated from the Medical University of Vienna in 2012. He later earned a Dr. scient. med. and completed MPH and MBA degrees.

Since 2018, he has served as a consultant at the intensive care unit of the Medical University of Vienna. In 2021, he completed his specialization in intensive care medicine. Dr. Boris Pekárek is a gastroenterologist. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava in 2002. He worked at the Internal Medicine Clinic in Trnava from 2002 to April 2010. He obtained his specialization in gastroenterology in 2008.

Since April 2010, he has worked at the Gastroenterology Department of the National Cancer Institute. He has led the department since 2017. He completed several specialized training courses abroad. He served as chair of the Oncology Section of the Slovak Gastroenterological Society from 2018 to 2024. He is the current chair of its Endoscopy Section and a member of the Society’s committee. Dr. Andrej Orságh is a gastroenterologist, certified in 2015. He has worked at the Gastroenterology Department of the National Cancer Institute (NOÚ) since 2016. Since 2019 he has been the institute’s specialist consultant for colorectal cancer screening. He leads the colorectal cancer screening working group of the Slovak Gastroenterological Society. He is vice-chair of its Endoscopy Section and chair of its Oncology Section.

He graduated from Comenius University in 2009. He trained at the Gastroenterology Clinic of the University Hospital in Bratislava and at the Slovak Medical University. He shares his expertise at professional conferences and in publications. He also teaches basic and advanced endoscopic techniques in NOÚ courses.

Dr. Lubos Zitnan is a gastroenterologist at the Gastroenterology Department of the National Cancer Institute. He has worked there since 2010. He also serves on the committee of the Oncology Section of the Slovak Gastroenterological Society.

Dr. Vilius Kontenis is a gastroenterologist and endoscopist. He trained at Vilnius University and earned his MD in 2014. He completed his gastroenterology residency in 2018. Since then, he has worked at Mažeikiai Hospital as a gastroenterologist and endoscopist. He also practices at Kardiolita Clinics in Vilnius as a gastroenterologist.

His work includes a systematic review and meta-analysis on inflammatory bowel disease. He has studied liver fibrosis, comparing FibroScan with routine tests. He has also published on dysphagia in older adults, pediatric diarrhea, and food allergy. He has presented on chylous ascites and catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome. He edited issue No. 1 of Gastroenterologija. He attended the 35th GEEW in 2017. He is a member of the Lithuanian Gastroenterology Association and the World Gastroenterology Organisation.
