Le Dr Krishna Iyer est l'un des chirurgiens cardiaques pédiatriques les plus réputés d'Inde, reconnu pour son expertise clinique et son vaste engagement dans les soins cardiaques pour les enfants en Inde et dans d'autres pays en développement. Ses intérêts actuels sont le perfectionnement de la chirurgie cardiaque néonatale complexe, la chirurgie cardiaque chez les nourrissons et les enfants mal nourris, le sauvetage des patients présentant une cardiopathie congénitale tardive et le développement de soins cardiaques rentables pour les enfants dans les pays en développement. Après une formation de base, il a rejoint le département de chirurgie cardiothoracique et vasculaire de l'AIIMS et était professeur adjoint au moment où il a rejoint l'Escorts Heart Institute pour créer sa division de soins cardiaques pédiatriques. Il a suivi une formation en chirurgie cardiaque pédiatrique et infantile sous la direction du célèbre chirurgien cardiaque pédiatrique Dr RBBMee en tant que Senior Fellow au département de chirurgie cardiaque pédiatrique du Royal Children's Hospital de Melbourne en Australie en 1989. Né à Ankara en 1980, il a fait ses études primaires et secondaires à Artvin, sa ville natale. Il est diplômé de l'école secondaire d'Inebolu en 1997 et commence à étudier à la faculté de médecine de l'université d'Ankara la même année. Il a obtenu son diplôme de docteur en médecine en 2003 et s'est bien classé à l'examen de spécialisation médicale la même année.

Il a commencé ses études de spécialisation en cardiologie au département de cardiologie de la faculté de médecine de l'université Gazi et est devenu spécialiste en cardiologie en 2008.

Il a servi comme cardiologue interventionnel à l'hôpital d'éducation et de recherche de Rize pendant son service obligatoire.

Il a travaillé dans le domaine de l'électrophysiologie avec le professeur Dr. Remzi Karaoğuz à l'hôpital Güven d'Ankara. Il est devenu professeur associé en janvier 2014 et professeur en 2023.
