Associate Professor Dr. Süleyman Tümen is a general and oncologic surgeon based in Istanbul. He has over 25 years of experience in Türkiye and Iraq. His work focuses on laparoscopic, cytoreductive, and gastrointestinal cancer surgery. He also performs HIPEC for peritoneal surface cancers. His most recent post was at Büyük Anadolu Hospital (BAHINTERNATIONAL). Dr. Muhammed Mustafa Atci is an Associate Professor of Medical Oncology at İstinye University, Liv Hospital Topkapı (2025–present). He previously served as Associate Professor and Education Coordinator at Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital (2023–2025). He was also a Medical Oncologist there (2018–2021).

Dr. Irfan Cicin is a Professor of Medical Oncology at the Trakya University Faculty of Medicine (2015–present). He has over 20 years of medical oncology experience and has held academic roles since 2010.

Dr. Zuhal Cakmak Peksen is a Family Medicine Specialist since 2017. She earned her MD from Çukurova University in 2010. She completed specialty training at Yüzüncü Yıl University between 2013 and 2017. She is currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in Health Management at Anadolu University (2024–present).

Prof. Selin Kapan has been a Professor of General Surgery since 2017. She is currently with Istanbul Aydın University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery (2022–present). She also served as Educational and Administrative Supervisor at Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital. She has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed papers. Her research covers hernia repair, perianal fistula, pilonidal disease, hepatic hydatid disease, laparoscopic surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery. Her work has been published in journals such as Digestive Surgery, Hernia, Techniques in Coloproctology, and the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery. She is a member of the Turkish Surgical Association, the National Trauma and Emergency Surgery Association, the Hernia Society, the Turkish HPB Surgery Association, the Stem Cell and Cellular Therapies Association, and the Gastroesophageal Reflux Association.

Dr. Boris Pekárek is a gastroenterologist. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava in 2002. He worked at the Internal Medicine Clinic in Trnava from 2002 to April 2010. He obtained his specialization in gastroenterology in 2008.

Since April 2010, he has worked at the Gastroenterology Department of the National Cancer Institute. He has led the department since 2017. He completed several specialized training courses abroad. He focuses on endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of early tumors of the esophagus, stomach, colon, and rectum.

He served as chair of the Oncology Section of the Slovak Gastroenterological Society from 2018 to 2024. He is the current chair of its Endoscopy Section and a member of the Society’s committee. He publishes, lectures at conferences, and trains basic and advanced endoscopic techniques in Slovakia and abroad.

Dr. Daniela Osuská is a gastroenterologist. She graduated from the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, in 2010. From 2010 to 2019 she worked as a secondary physician at the Internal Medicine Clinic of Nitra University Hospital. There she began performing endoscopies. Since 2019 she has worked at the Gastroenterology Department of the National Cancer Institute. She earned her gastroenterology specialization in 2021.

She serves on the supervisory board of the Oncology Section of the Slovak Gastroenterological Society and the Section of Young Gastroenterologists. She publishes and presents her work in Slovakia and abroad. She also trains physicians in endoscopic techniques.

Dr. Juraj Letkovsky has been a gastroenterologist at the Gastroenterology Department of the National Cancer Institute (NOÚ) since 2017. He graduated in medicine in 2012 and earned a PhD in internal medicine in 2016. He obtained specialization in gastroenterology in 2018.

His practice focuses on advanced endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of digestive tract tumors. He performs endosonography and ERCP for pancreatic and biliary diseases.

He serves on the Young Gastroenterologists, Endoscopy, and Oncology sections of the Slovak Gastroenterology Society. Dr. Andrej Orságh is a gastroenterologist, certified in 2015. He has worked at the Gastroenterology Department of the National Cancer Institute (NOÚ) since 2016. Since 2019 he has been the institute’s specialist consultant for colorectal cancer screening. He leads the colorectal cancer screening working group of the Slovak Gastroenterological Society. He is vice-chair of its Endoscopy Section and chair of its Oncology Section.

He graduated from Comenius University in 2009. He trained at the Gastroenterology Clinic of the University Hospital in Bratislava and at the Slovak Medical University. He shares his expertise at professional conferences and in publications. He also teaches basic and advanced endoscopic techniques in NOÚ courses.

Dr. Lubos Zitnan is a gastroenterologist at the Gastroenterology Department of the National Cancer Institute. He has worked there since 2010. He also serves on the committee of the Oncology Section of the Slovak Gastroenterological Society.

His practice includes colonoscopy, gastroscopy, endosonography (EUS), and ERCP for pancreatic and biliary diseases. He holds certificates in diagnostic and interventional esophagogastroduodenoscopy, diagnostic and interventional colonoscopy, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography.

Since then, he has worked at Mažeikiai Hospital as a gastroenterologist and endoscopist. He also practices at Kardiolita Clinics in Vilnius as a gastroenterologist.

His work includes a systematic review and meta-analysis on inflammatory bowel disease. He has studied liver fibrosis, comparing FibroScan with routine tests. Dr. Tomas Jucaitis is a gastroenterologist and endoscopist. He studied at Kaunas University of Medicine from 1991 to 1998 and graduated in 1998. He completed a primary residency at Ukmergė Hospital in 1999 (1998–1999). He then finished an internal medicine residency at Vilnius University (1999–2001). He later completed a gastroenterology residency (2001–2003). His training also includes internships in the Czech Republic, Germany, and the USA.

He was Coordinator at the National Organ Transplantation Bureau from 2001 to 2004. He worked as an endoscopist and ultrasound specialist at Vilnius Emergency University Hospital from 2003 to 2006. Since 2006, he has practiced as a gastroenterologist and endoscopist at Vilnius University Hospital “SK” Center Branch and at Vilnius “Kardiolita Clinics.” He also held prior roles at Švenčionys Hospital and “Northway” Medical Center.

Dr. Laura Masalaite is a gastroenterologist and endoscopist at VUL Santaros Clinics and Kardiolita Clinics. She became Acting Head of the Organ Transplantation Coordination Centre in 2024. From 2007 to 2024, she served as Senior Specialist. She has been an Associate Professor at Vilnius University since 2024.

She completed a PhD in Medicine in 2014 (2010–2014). She finished a gastroenterology residency in 2010 (2006–2010). She is a licensed gastroenterologist (MPL15909; 2010-06-30). Her advanced training includes liver transplantation in Vienna (2023–2024) and Warsaw (2010). She also trained in endoscopy and ultrasound in Wuppertal and completed UEG courses. She obtained GCP certification in 2023.

She has published in Cancers, Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, and Hepatology International. Her work covers national 5-year colorectal screening and EUS for predicting variceal recurrence. She has also studied adenoma detection rate, Zenker diverticulotomy, portal vein flow in pancreatitis, diastolic dysfunction in cirrhosis, and early outcomes after liver transplantation.

Assoc. Prof. Atakan Topçu, M.D., is a medical oncologist at Medipol University and Medipol Acıbadem Regional Hospital. He treats solid tumors, including lung, breast, colorectal, gastric, and neuroendocrine cancers. His work also covers targeted therapies, immunotherapy, geriatric oncology, and cancer-related malnutrition, cachexia, and sarcopenia.

He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed papers. Recent work includes a 2024 Frontiers in Medicine study on geriatric syndromes and a 2023 Future Oncology paper on sarcopenia and anxiety in lung cancer. He has also published on the CONUT score in breast cancer and on malnutrition in HER2-negative metastatic gastric cancer.

Dr. Topçu serves on the Editorial Board of BMC Cancer. He is a member of the Turkish Society of Medical Oncology, ESMO, and the Turkish Geriatrics Society.
