Après avoir obtenu son diplôme de la Faculté de médecine d'Hacettepe, Département d'anglais, il a passé l'examen TUS et a commencé sa carrière en tant qu'assistant à la clinique ORL d'Eskişehir Osmangazi.
Après avoir terminé sa spécialisation, il a été nommé à l'hôpital Sivas Numune pour effectuer son service obligatoire.
Au cours de son service obligatoire, il a été nommé professeur adjoint au département ORL de l'Université Sivas Cumhuriyet, mais il n'a pas commencé pour des raisons familiales et a postulé pour des nominations internes.

Entre 2011 et 2022, alors qu’il travaillait à l’hôpital de formation et de recherche Haseki d’Istanbul, il a contribué à la formation d’innombrables assistants.
Tout en contribuant à la formation des assistants, il s'est perfectionné en chirurgie thyroïdienne en suivant des cours de chirurgie thyroïdienne qu'il n'avait pas reçus dans son propre assistanat.
Il a été autorisé à devenir professeur associé le .11.2021.
Il a commencé à travailler au département ORL de l'hôpital de la faculté de médecine de l'université de Biruni à partir du 17.10.2022.

Dr. Akin Akyurt is an experienced ophthalmologist. He graduated from Istanbul University School of Medicine. He completed advanced fellowships at University Eye Clinics in Cologne and Tuebingen, Germany. He also holds a PhD focused on immunomodulatory therapy for uveitis.
