Il est spécialiste en chirurgie ORL et de la tête et du cou. Il est diplômé du lycée Atatürk d'Ankara en 1974. Après avoir terminé un an de cours préparatoires en anglais à l'ODTU, il a obtenu le diplôme de la faculté de médecine de l'université Hacettepe d'Eskisehir.

En 1980, il a terminé ses études à la faculté de médecine de l'université Hacettepe d'Eskisehir. En 1984, il a fait ses études au département d'ORL du centre médical de l'université Hacettepe. Finalement, il a démissionné en août 2010.
