Prof. Dr. Deniz Süha Küçükaksu is a cardiovascular surgeon with over 35 years of experience. He specializes in adult and pediatric cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support. He leads the Heart Transplantation and Artificial Heart Center at Başkent University Istanbul Hospital.

Dr. Küçükaksu completed his medical and surgical training in Turkey. He also received advanced fellowships in Germany, France, and the United States. His focus has been on LVAD systems and heart failure surgery.

He introduced mechanical circulatory support and artificial heart programs in Turkey. He has performed many types of surgeries, including coronary bypass (off-pump), valve replacements, aortic repair (EVAR/TEVAR), and reoperations. He has also established heart transplant centers at several institutions.

Dr. Küçükaksu has held senior academic and administrative roles. He has contributed to total artificial heart surgery and hybrid cardiovascular procedures. He has received national and international awards for his scientific and surgical work.

Giuseppe Speziale occupe les postes de coordinateur national de chirurgie cardiaque de GVM Care & Research, de directeur du département de chirurgie cardiaque de l'hôpital Anthea et de l'hôpital Città di Lecce, et de directeur du département de chirurgie cardiaque de l'hôpital Santa Maria. Il travaille à l'Institut clinique cardiologique (ICC) et à l'hôpital San Carlo di Nancy de Rome. Depuis 2011, il occupe également le poste de vice-président de GVM Care & Research. En 2012, il a occupé la charge de président de Confindustria Puglia, section Santé, et depuis 2018, il est vice-président de l'Aiop Puglia (association italienne des hôpitaux privés). Le prof. Speziale est un chirurgien cardiaque spécialisé dans le traitement chirurgical mini-invasif des valvulopathies, expert en réparation mini-invasive de la valve mitrale, en revascularisation myocardique On and Off Pump, en chirurgie aortique thoracique. Il est co-fondateur et président du comité scientifique de la Mitral Academy, une association indépendante née de la passion pour la chirurgie mitrale et du désir de poursuivre et de partager l'excellence en chirurgie réparatrice, avec une attention particulière aux techniques mini-invasives et à l'évaluation des traitements thérapeutiques potentiels découlant de l'utilisation de nouvelles technologies. Jusqu'en 2016, il a été élu directeur de la Société italienne de chirurgie cardiaque. Il fait partie des associations suivantes : AATS (American Association for Thoracic Surgery), Italian Society of Cardiology Accredited Hospital, SICOA (membre actif), ISMICS (International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery). Dans le domaine de la recherche scientifique, il se concentre sur de nouvelles approches, applicables dans le domaine de la chirurgie mitrale, aortique, cardiaque et tricuspidienne mini-invasive et non invasive. Il a été coordinateur et chercheur des différents projets du Conseil national de recherche sur l'infarctus du myocarde, sur le traitement de l'hypertension pulmonaire, sur les nouvelles technologies pour la réalisation de pontages coronariens, cardiopulmonaires et normothermiques. Il a été professeur adjoint à l'Université Sapienza de Rome où il a occupé la chaire de cardiologie II, et à l'Université de Ferrare, où il enseigne la chirurgie cardiaque. Il a présenté de nombreux articles scientifiques lors de congrès nationaux et internationaux de cardiologie et de chirurgie cardiaque.
