Osman Şevki Arslan is an ophthalmologist who developed three surgical techniques. These include Retrograde Glaucoma Tube Implantation for treating high eye pressure. He served as President of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association and founded the Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Eye Bank.

He served on the executive board of the Cornea and Ocular Surface Unit for 29 years. He also served as a member of the TOD Cataract and Refractive Surgery Unit executive board from 2016 to 2018. Currently, he coordinates the eye clinic at Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital.
