Specialization and Surgical Focus
Dr. Kaya treats conditions affecting the brain and spine. His primary clinical focus includes functional and stereotactic neurosurgery. He performs deep brain stimulation – a surgical treatment that uses implanted electrodes – to treat Parkinson’s disease and essential tremors.
He treats various oncological and structural disorders, such as:
- Skull base and brain tumors, including glioblastoma and meningioma
- Spinal tumors and spinal cord abscesses
- Spinal stenosis and spinal slippage
- Cervical and lumbar herniated discs
- Vascular pathologies of the central nervous system
Dr. Kaya uses instrumentation and microdiscectomy for spinal stabilization. He also performs stereotactic biopsies – a minimally invasive procedure to sample brain tissue. Additionally, he performs shunt surgeries to treat hydrocephalus, which is the buildup of fluid in the brain.
