Avoid if you are looking for English speaking service.
I live in Budapest and have gone to Poncz for a few years. Up until recently it has been a good experience. Unfortunately, turnover in the last year has completely changed the practice.
The hygienist does not speak English. She did a visual inspection of my teeth and recommended treatment. No x-rays, no doctor opinion...just a glance at my teeth while cleaning them. She was very, very sweet though.
The receptionist speaks very little English. I received an eye roll and a sigh when I said something to her in English. I was told I needed to make two appointments and got the attitude when I asked what date was for what appointment.
Whoever answers the phone does not speak English. I called up asking to speak to someone and was hung up on within 5 seconds of speaking English.
Email replies are written by someone who does not know English. I simply wanted to confirm an appointment and they had no idea what I was asking....even though I was replying to the very email I had set up the appointment in.
I did my best to be patient for a month. I paid for assessment only to be told I would be contacted to let me know if I needed to see a specialist. I never received a follow-up call/email about seeing that specialist, when I did inquire my message was ignored. Only one week later I received a reply after messaging them again telling me to make an appointment myself....an appointment for what I have no idea would be for. They asked me to make an appointment because the specialist wasn't replying to them and never looked at the x-rays so just make an appointment myself.
It was one miscommunication after another. When I got the huff and eye roll I should have known right there what I was dealing with. In reality it was my fault since I was communicating with them in English and not Hungarian. To their credit there is someone that knows English and tries her best to help but she can only do so much.
Their website is in English, they advertise as a provider for dental tourism. That may have been the case years ago however they are now a local, Hungarian speaking facility only.
I have a half dozen friends who see Poncz yet they all speak Hungarian and receive great treatment and are very happy. That most likely will not be the case if you do not speak Hungarian.
